Enough of The Snow I'm Off To Arizona

I have had enough of this snow in Colorado and am now headed to Arizona for my annual javelina hunt that starts on the 7th.  This will be our 23rd trip after the ghost of the desert.

While it won't be in the 80's and 90's down there it will be in the 60's and 70's and after not seeing 40 degrees for the last two months it will be enough

If your friend says that the meat is horrible then he hasn't eaten any of it.

While it does have it's own taste it is good.  I have even fed it to people like your friend without telling them what it was until the platter of meat was all gone and they were fighting for the scraps.  I then just smiled as I watched the look on their faces.

But they do have a scent gland on their back that a lot of people want to cut off and then they get the oils all over their knife that they use to clean and cut them up with.  Which could be a problem.  But the nice thing is that the gland comes right off with the skin without any problems.  it is a lot like the tarsal glands on deer, if you cut them off you better have a different knife to do the rest of the work along with washing your hands before you touch anyting else.
